Key stage 1 Living things and their habitats education workshop

In African Animals, students will be taken on a tour by a member of our dedicated Learning staff around the meerkats, lions and zebras enclosures bringing to life the role camouflage plays in the survival of animals in the wild. Students will compare and contrast the different colours in the wild and compare colours of predators and prey.

Please note that this session takes place outdoors and is a walking tour. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Learning about African animals

Students will be able to:

  • Identify an animal that uses camouflage
  • Identify the relationship between colour and camouflage and predator/prey animals
KS1 Science  Living things and their habitats  Identify that most things live in habitats to which they are suited
