Prizes and benefits
- There will be one winner in total. The winner will have the opportunity to select a name for the elephant calf from a shortlist supplied by our conservation team in Thailand and Zookeepers, spend a morning with the elephant Zookeepers at Whipsnade Zoo helping to care for the elephant herd (for up to four people aged 5+), and stay overnight at a Whipsnade Zoo Lookout Lodge with up to two adults and two children or one adult and up to three children (age 5-13). The Lookout Lodge stay must be redeemed by end of April 2027.
- Included in the Lookout Lodge stay is:
o Complimentary drink on arrival
o Three after-hours tours of the Zoo at sunset, after-dark and in the morning
o Overnight stay in a private lodge - double or twin beds
o A two-course dinner
o Full English breakfast
o Free entry into Whipsnade Zoo for the two days of your evening stay, and the option to visit London Zoo on your second day

- Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- The winner will be contacted by email within seven days of the competition closing date.
- The elephant calf name must be selected from the shortlist provided by Zookeepers by 27 July 2026.
- If the winner fails to respond within 14 days, another winner will be selected.

- Prizes are non-transferable and a cash alternative is not available. ZSL reserves the right to terminate, amend or extend this promotion without incurring liability, in the event circumstances affect its ability to operate the competition. We will not be responsible unless required by law, for any loss, changes, costs or expenses, which may arise in connection with this competition, and we can cancel or alter the competition at any stage.
About the prize draw
- The Elephant Calf Naming Prize Draw involves participants donating £5 or more to ZSL (charity registered in England and Wales, charity number: 208728) to enter the prize draw on Crowdfunder. One prize draw winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries, and the winner will have the opportunity to select a name for the elephant calf from a shortlist supplied by our conservation team in Thailand and Zookeepers, spend a morning with the elephant Zookeepers at Whipsnade Zoo helping to care for the elephant herd (up to 4 people age 5+), and stay overnight at a Whipsnade Zoo Lookout Lodge with up to two adults and two children or one adult and up to three children.
- Entrants must be at least 18 years old and resident in the United Kingdom.
- Complete and valid details must be submitted via the Elephant Calf Naming Prize draw Crowdfunder page by the end of 11.55pm on 13 July 2026.
- When taking part in the prize draw, participants have the option to donate £5 for one entry, £15 for four entries, £50 for 15 entries in the prize draw, £100 for 25 entries or £500 for 75 entries. The first ten people to donate the £500 ticket bundle will get the choice of either a Keeper For The Day experience for two people at Whipsnade Zoo, or a Meet the Elephants Experience for two people at Whipsnade Zoo. Please note that the Keeper For The Day experience has a minimum age of 16 and the Meet the Elephants experience has a minimum age of 8. Child under the age of 16 taking part in the Meet the Elephants experience must be accompanied by an adult with a valid Meet the Elephants ticket. These experiences must be redeemed by end December 2026. - Participants can enter the prize draw by donating as many times as they wish.
- Participants may also enter the prize draw without donating, by sending via post a letter with the participants full name and email address, which will be used to contact them should they win the prize draw. Prize draw entries should be posted to Individual Giving, ZSL, Outer Circle, Regent’s Park, London, NW1 4RY and letters must be received by 11.55pm on 12 May 2025. Only one entry by post is allowed per person.
- The competition is owned by the Zoological Society of London [ZSL], a charity dedicated to creating a world where wildlife thrives, charity registered in England and Wales number 208728.
- Employees of ZSL, volunteers, agents and anyone else connected with this promotion, and their families, are not eligible to enter.
- ZSL accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete or illegible for any reason.

General
- It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure they have read and obeyed the prize draw rules set out below and that their entry complies with ZSL’s requirements.
- Any entry found not to comply with the rules will be disqualified.
- The decision of ZSL on all matters relating to the prize draw is final and binding. No negotiation will be considered, and prizes are non-transferrable.
How to enter
- Participants enter by donating a minimum of £5 on ZSL’s Elephant Calf Naming Prize Draw Crowdfunder page. Complete and valid details must be submitted via the online form by 11.55pm on 13 July 2026.
- Participants may also enter the prize draw without donating, by sending via post a letter with the participants full name and email address, which will be used to contact them should they win the prize draw and letters must be received by 11.55pm on 13 July 2026. Only one entry by post is allowed per person.
- The prize draw is not open to ZSL employees, volunteers and their relatives.
- Entries received after 11.55pm on 13 July 2026 will not be entered into the prize draw.
- Your entry must be your own work, must not be copied and must not otherwise be obscene, defamatory or in breach of any applicable legislation or regulations. If we have reason to believe your entry is not your own work, we may not consider it.
Selecting the winner
- The winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries.
- The winner will be contacted by email within seven days of the competition closing date.
- If the winner fails to respond within 14 days, another winner will be selected.
- ZSL does not accept any responsibility if the winner is not able to take up the prize.
Liability
- Proof of submission is not proof of receipt by ZSL.
- ZSL shall not be responsible for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause.
Data protection
- By entering the prize draw, each entrant agrees that any personal information provided by you when you enter this prize draw, may only be held by ZSL for the duration of the prize draw, and used only for the purpose of administering the prize draw, including the use of the winners’ email address to directly contact them and to provide them with details of their prize.

Governing Law
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales
