Accessibility

This event is fully accessible.

This summer at Whipsnade Zoo (22 July to 4 September), the Beanotown kids are taking matters into their own hands.

Too many grown-ups have been rubbish at animal conservation so far, but Dennis and his Beanotown friends reckon they can do better. As part of Beano’s 85th anniversary celebrations, take a leaf out of their comic book and learn how to protect wildlife at home and around the world.

Grab your exclusive free Beano comic story from the Zoo entrance then follow the Beano bunting to find your favourite characters on our comic story trail. Kids (and grown-ups) will love taking part in these blamtastic games and interactive challenges.

Dare you enter Harsha’s tent of trumps? Can you help Dennis and use a catapult to create a wildlife garden? Or will you assist Dangerous Dan on his mission to keep animals’ homes tidy?

Plus, don’t forget to search out Gnasher around the Zoo on his hide and seek trail!

Personality Quiz

Is your personality like Dennis, Harsha, Rubi or Dan? Answer our awesome questions to find out!

Dennis’ wildlife garden planting

Dennis is learning how to make room for nature but, being Dennis, he isn’t planting his seeds in a traditional way! Can you help him fire seed bomb pom-poms into his garden to grow more flowers for bees, bugs and other animals? Don’t forget to visit the craft station afterwards to make your own seed bomb to take home.

Cartoon bug hunt

Can you find all the cartoon bugs in our bug-friendly habitat?

Tent of trumps

Harsha has gathered poo from around Whipsnade Zoo to see which animal has the smelliest and gassiest emissions. Are you brave enough to walk through all those toxic smells and sounds?

Harsha’s gas emission quiz

Beanotown’s biggest prankster has put together some questions to test your knowledge. Ace her quiz to avoid hearing the dreaded whoopee cushion sound on the wrong answers!

Mini electric safari jeeps*

Take a spin in our kid-friendly electric cars and discover the smoothest way to travel without creating gas emissions.

Dangerous Dan’s tidy up mission

Can you help Dan keep animals’ homes tidy? Use the teeter tables to reduce, reuse and recycle your rubbish instead of letting it fall into the animal habitats.

Crack the code

Solve the cipher wheels to become a super spy and find out Dangerous Dan’s secret codes!

Grab a snap with your favourite characters

There’s plenty of chances to get photos with cut outs of your favourite Beano characters. Plus, get your friends and family giggling with a picture of you and one of the speech bubble gags on our animal joke walk!

Rubi’s pledge garden

This Beanotown super smart kid knows the best way to help animals is to spread the word! Make a pinwheel with your pledge and add it to Rubi’s pledge garden.

Gnasher’s hide and seek trail for kids aged 5+

Gnasher wasn’t allowed to join the Beanotown kids on their Zoo visit, so he has snuck himself in and is having to find places to hide. Can you spot him at 6 locations around the Zoo?

Animal talks and pop up activities

Visit the what’s on boards to find out about our animal talks and additional pop-up activities happening around our Beano event hub.

With plenty of conservation action to be taken and mischief to be caused, this family-friendly summer event is perfect for kids aged 8-12, with Gnasher’s trail suitable for those aged 5+.
