Groups of all ages can upgrade their tickets to include exclusive education sessions at Whipsnade Zoo.

Our highly skilled education team can offer your group a unique and valuable experience whilst they enjoy a day out in the Chiltern Hills. Groups can hear about animals from around the world and discover many of the important projects being completed by the ZSL conservation teams. These interactive sessions are delivered with the help of some of our animal friends and resources such as biofacts and multimedia.

Group sessions:

Habitats

Why do camels have long eyelashes, and why does a zebra have stripes? We discover how animals’ bodies are adapted to a range of different habitats. (Suitable for 5-10 year olds)

Wildlife Under Threat

What is an endangered animal and why are they endangered? Groups will investigate real case studies of endangered species and learn about the conservation work that ZSL takes part in to protect different species, and suggest a way in which people can help to protect endangered animals by completing simple actions (Suitable for 10-16 year olds)

Role of the Modern Zoo

Using case studies form ZSL, this session helps your group to understand how zoos work to conserve endangered species; from captive breeding and reintroduction programmes, to science and education. (Suitable for 16+)
