What’s my name?

Four Chinese water deer, also known as vampire deer due to their sharp fang-like teeth, were born at Whipsnade Zoo last month where they have been hand-reared by the zoo’s expert keepers.

The fawns, who are listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of threatened species, will soon move to London Zoo, but first they are in need of names. Zookeepers have narrowed down the best names, themed on bodies of water in China, but now we need our members’ help to choose from their shortlists - so cast your vote below before Monday 26 June!
