Zookeeper fundraising

We celebrate our 90th birthday on 23 May, and to mark the anniversary, keeper Rosie Turner is taking on a big challenge - a 35-mile trek from London Zoo to Whipsnade Zoo! She's been keeping diaries of her training. Our Zoos were forced to close to the public for a total of 29 weeks throughout the national lockdowns, missing out on £26 million of potential income during the pandemic.

Using Whipsnade's anniversary as a fundraising target, Rosie is aiming to raise £2,305 to support ZSL, by taking on the 12-hour hike. Rosie has worked at Whipsnade for 20 years and wanted to do something momentous as it's always been a big part of her life. If you'd like to help her reach her fundraising target, you can support her here.

Thank you so much. And good luck Rosie!
