Educational lifecycles workshop for EYFS

In this Lifecycles workshop at the Zoo students will explore how a variety of different animals grow, develop and produce offspring. Students will start by considering their own lifecycle before going on to compare the lifecycles of several other species. Using costumes and role play to create and act out a butterfly lifecycle, before being led on a tour of our butterfly house, your students will have the chance to reinforce their learning by searching for the real-life stages of a butterfly lifecycle.

Intended learning outcomes:

Students will be able to:

  • Select pictures in the appropriate order to build the lifecycle of a frog
  • Name and act out the stages of a butterfly lifecycle
  • Find and name the different stages of the butterflies lifecycle in the Butterfly house
