Penguin facts
Penguins have been around for millions of years, with the ancestor of the modern penguin first appearing 14 million years ago. Today, penguins are at risk of extinction due to climate change, overfishing, and pollution. Join us for penguin weekend and find out more about how ZSL used technology to help penguins such as the iconic Emperor penguin.
Member, Fellow and Patron special: Collect a penguin pin badge!
On all three celebration days, you can snap up your very own pin badge to celebrate these incredible species. Simply pop over to the penguins when activities take place and show your membership card to a presenter after a penguin talk or to a member of staff at the gazebos. But hurry, the pin badges are limited and will be handed out on a first-come first-served basis.
Become a Zoo member and you can also enjoy a whole year of unlimited Zoo visits including other animal celebration days!
