Free Whipsnade Zoo entry for teachers on Sunday 5 October

Our Learning Team will meet you to discuss how we can help you bring nature into the heart of your curriculum. We’re offering teachers free entry to attend this event, so you can find out about everything we offer schools including visits, learning sessions, our Education Access Scheme and more!

Head to the Learning Hub* from 10am - 1pm to meet our friendly team and discover our full range of Learning programmes and resources. Enhance your knowledge of native species conservation, make some animal enrichment and speak with members of the ZSL team to find out more about our animals. You will also be able to sign up for themed walking tours taking place in the afternoon and drop into workshop taster sessions around the site.

There will also be the opportunity for you to enter a prize draw to win an exclusive animal experience to be held at 3pm the same day.

*You’ll find our Learning Hub next to the Aquarium and Butterfly House. There will be signage in place at the Zoo entrance to direct you.

How do I visit the Zoo on World Teachers’ Day?

Teachers need to show their school pass/ID (or proof of employment at a school/college) on entry to the Zoo to be granted free entry on Sunday 5 October 2025.

Friends and family are more than welcome to join you at the Zoo. Up to 4 extra tickets for friends and family can be purchased at the gate for a discount of 50% on 5 October 2025. Please note that these tickets must be purchased on the gate at the time of entry and cannot be booked in advance.

As a conservation zoo, learning is at the heart of all that we do. We can’t wait to share how the Zoo can help you to support and inspire the next generation.

Accessibility

The fair will be fully accessible. Find more details about accessibility around site, or contact a member of our team on whipsnadezoolearning@zsl.org.
