Alongside supporting the learning and development of young people, we also offer development opportunities for teachers. Our workshops can help integrate nature-based learning into your curricula as well as support schools to meet the government’s Sustainability and Climate Change Education strategy. We can support teacher training providers with workshops on teaching outside of the classroom and sustainability. Workshops could be:

- Flexible, online training workshops to suit your schedule
We also offer workshops and bespoke INSET day events to teachers, schools and other education settings on teaching outside of the classroom, sustainability and biodiversity in your setting. Workshops could be:

We also have our Teacher Panel; a group of professionals that help us to test and develop new offerings while meeting other local teachers who are passionate about the environment and spending time amongst the animals on our beautiful sites.
Professional Learning for Animal Management Tutors
We also work specifically with tutors at Further Education (FE) colleges teaching animal management and science.
FE tutors have the opportunity to enrol on our zookeeper insight days to work alongside zookeepers and learn current practice and animal-management techniques. We also offer themed workshops incorporating theory and practical sessions, aiming to teach up-to-date knowledge, practice and techniques to support teaching of zoo-based modules at college. Workshops can be designed bespoke to your needs.

We have launched a new online teacher training course aiming to support you with the skills and confidence to deliver nature-connected learning, indoors and outdoors, with ZSL conservation expertise and practical teaching resources.
The four-week course will explore the foundations of outdoor learning, including the benefits for pupil engagement, wellbeing and nature connectedness. It also covers biodiversity basics, school grounds activities and curriculum connections through real-world conservation case studies and provides downloadable resources and practical activities.
