These important additions to the conservation breeding programme have already ventured outside into the paddock. Visitors will be able to see them and their brother Wilfred galloping around the paddock together from the many viewing areas at Giraffe Heights.

Did you know?

Our giraffe calf Wilfred was named after renowned WW1 poet Wilfred Owen, having being born on Remembrance Day (11 November) in 2022.

Our two new reticulated giraffe calves join the growing herd at Giraffe Heights, alongside:

  • Wilfred, born November 2022 to mum Luna and dad Bashu
  • Luna, mother of Wilfred and the new male giraffe calf
  • Ijuma, mother of the female giraffe calf
  • Bashu, father to Wilfred and both new giraffe calves

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for them on your next visit to our conservation Zoo.
